We are looking for an experienced Freelance Web/WordPress developer to join the Web Services team. This is a great opportunity for students looking for some extra income and real world experience, or seasoned Freelancers looking for additional (low pressure) gigs.

What to expect:

Anywhere from 5-15 hours of work each week.  Projects will be assigned with deliverables and time frames included, along with a standard development process.  You may be asked to complete maintenance requests on sites already developed within our network.  You will work closely with the project lead and not have to worry about direct client contact.  You will have to track time on each project and be able to invoice DEV406, which will be paid out Net 30, or when the project has been paid in full by client.

The perfect freelancer would have experience in the following:

    • Experience of PHP programming, MySQL, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
    • Experience of PHP5, HTML5, and CSS3 beneficial
    • Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using WP Codex best practice & industry standard plugins.
    • Experience working with WordPress at a PHP code level:

    • Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions
    • Creation of custom post types
    • Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with the WordPress coding standards
    • Creation of clean, logical, well-documented and re-usable code
    • Theme/Template integration
    • Knowledge of WordPress Network (Multisite) beneficial

    • Good understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues
    • Use of jQuery & AJAX an advantage
